George Bests Teachers Reunite for Launch of
Dancing Shoes!
On Tuesday 24th May at Nettlefield Primary School a very unusual reunion will take place! After nearly 50 years the teachers of George Best will gather to help launch the smash hit show about his life.
Lady Hastings who taught GB from 1957 to 1960 has organised this reunion for the launch of the show. Her husband’s hotel The Europa is a sponsor of Dancing Shoes and at recent meeting the news that Lady Hastings was Georges old teacher grabbed the attention of Martin Lynch (co-writer and producer) who suggested that the old teaching staff should get together to launch the show about their old pupil. Lady Hastings who taught George French and English agreed the time was right to get the old teaching staff back together.
“I taught George at Linasharragh High School and he was a wonderful pupil. He was an intelligent lad, who could have gone far in other areas had he not been headhunted for Manchester united”.
The cast of Dancing Shoes will perform two songs from the show for Lady Hastings, the old teaching staff and the P7 pupils of Nettlefield Primary School from 1pm on Tuesday 24th May.
